Warning- I haven't quite figured things out yet.
See ya! Jen
These are my latest projects...
I wanted to make my entry way more homey...
I haven't done many pillows-- so fun!
I used a pattern by one of my favorite folkart gals,
Cheri Saffiote-Payne, but I changed it a bit.
This is one of those things that just makes me smile when I see it!
I made up this quote, the original quote was something like "I walked throught the garden one day" or something... I thought that I needed something to remind me to be a better mother. :)
Have fun decorating your own little gardens!
The girls and I needed a Saturday project, so we went to Hobby Lobby and I let them pick out scrapbook paper for each letter of their name... then we Modge Podged...
I'd never decoupaged before - it was quite easy. (I just traced the wooden letters and cut out the scrapbook paper. The kids painted the glue on the wooden letter, I painted a little glue on the back of the paper, we stuck them together and then the girls painted the glue on the top of the paper.) It was easier than painting because the glue dries clear.
So fun! And, the letters really brightened up their rooms. The big bonus was I got the letters 50% off so each name only cost me about $5 total. I saw the cutest black and white prints and I kinda want to do a big, more formal, MOSS for my family room. Can one have too much decoupage?
I got new boots for Valentine's day... they're cute... brown with blue stitching, and the inside is blue. Now I feel like a regular ol' cowgirl from TEXAS. I really wanted these brown and green boots, but Todd talked me into a little more neutral... So fun!! Maybe I'll get some wranglers and a cowgirl shirt for my birthday... Actually, I saw a really cute long jean skirt that I want so I can wear my new boots to church this Sunday. (I bet I could squeeze it out of the grocery budget).
OK- so I am wearing the new skirt in this picture... we can have baked potatoes for the last week of Februrary... it's all good.
This is my cute, cute baby nephew, Isaac Warner Moss. He was born a bit preemie, but now is 2 months old and don't you just want to squeeze him?!?
He still has a little tummy hernia that they are going to have to operate on, but hopefully that will go well.
Todd's brother David and his wife Rebekah live in ITALY. This is their truly Italian baby.
I can't resist a little picture of my cute Leah... she fell asleep in her highchair with one raisin left.
Babies are so sweet...
If you would have called at the beginning of last week you would have heard me telling you that my kids had the flu. It's not even that bad, I would have said, they just get a fever and sleep for four days. Doesn't sound too bad, it didn't even look too bad as an observer, but Wednesday night rolled around and I was tossing and turning with fever and it was that bad. I can't even remember the last time I was sick in bed- not counting five labors. It sucks. The flu hurts- like you've been hit by a bus, and you can't even enjoy five days of bed rest because you want to cry the whole time. My saving grace- Tylenol Cold and Flu. It tastes better coming up than going down and really makes life with morning sickness and the flu liveable.
Hope y'all were smarter than me and got flu shots... one good thing- Todd cleaned the bathrooms... he couldn't even remember the last time he has cleaned a toilet. (See what a good wife I am?!)
This is a scrappy buggy barn heart quilt that I just made for Valentine's Day. I love Buggy Barn because it's just cut and sew, and they look so fun and scrappy. I pieced a black border with my extra black fabric and I quilted it free motion with hearts and swirls. So fun. Too bad I just finished it today- only 12 days to display it before Valentine's. I already have my Easter Quilt cut out- so hopefully I'll have it finished when I take this quilt down.
Oh, another tip- I hang my quilts up with wooden curtain rods and clips that you can buy for shower curtains. It's fun to be able to rotate for the season, or just display my favorites. My quilting friends here in Lubbock seriously have a quilt displayed on every wall in every room. So fun!
